Suspension, Tension, and Pin-Type Insulator Ironworks

As Özgökçe Elektrik, we offer Suspension, Tension, and Pin-Type Insulator Ironworks, critical components that ensure the safe and continuous operation of overhead power lines. These ironworks connect insulators to poles, support conductors, and are specifically designed to withstand different mechanical loads.

Product Groups and Features

1. Suspension Insulator Ironworks:

  • Function: Supports conductors horizontally and is designed to withstand only the weight load.

  • Areas of Use:

    • Straight lines (conductor support between poles)

    • Medium and high-voltage lines

    • Typically used with disc-type insulators.

  • Material and Standard: Made from galvanized steel and has a resistance of 1200–3000 kg, in compliance with the TS 622/IEC 60372 standard.

2. Tension Insulator Ironworks:

  • Function: Counteracts the tensile force of conductors (at line ends or corner poles).

  • Features:

    • Made from high-strength steel.

    • Features a double safety design to prevent breakage.

  • Areas of Use:

    • Line ends and sharp turning points

    • Bridge crossings

    • Areas with high wind load.

  • Material and Standard: Made from high-strength steel and has a resistance of 4000–8000 kg, in compliance with the TS 623/IEC 60471 standard.

3. Pin-Type Insulator Ironworks:

  • Function: Secures the insulator to the pole to support the conductor, carrying both vertical and horizontal loads.

  • Types:

    • Pin Type: Used in low-voltage lines (bolted to concrete poles).

    • Bracket Type: Used in medium-voltage lines (cross-arm connected).

  • Areas of Use:

    • LV/MV distribution lines

    • Transformer pole connections

    • Urban overhead lines.

  • Material and Standard: Made from forged iron/stainless steel and has a resistance of 500–2000 kg, in compliance with the TS 609 standard.

Critical Use Cases
  • Energy Transmission Lines: Suspension ironworks + disc insulators → 380 kV lines

  • Industrial Facilities: Tension ironworks → Indoor MV lines

  • Urban Distribution Network: Pin-type insulator ironworks + pin insulators → 34.5 kV lines

Maintenance and Safety Notes
  • Corrosion Control: The galvanized coating should be checked regularly.

  • Failure Scenarios: A break in tension ironworks can lead to line sag, while a break in pin-type ironworks can cause the insulator to fall and create a risk of leakage current; immediate action is required in both cases.

We are at your service with our Suspension, Tension, and Pin-Type Insulator Ironworks solutions, manufactured to high standards for the durability and safety of your power lines.
